It’s always a pleasure to watch Dawn “Sam” Alden and Amy Harmon engage in stage combat, which is what they–long skirts tucked up out of the way–do in Tony Wolf’s Satisfaction. Director David Woolley successfully integrates the swordplay into this one-act about a group of women in post-Civil War New Orleans as they ostensibly enjoy a picnic following a funeral. The second one-act on the bill, Mrs. Dire’s House of Crumpets and Solutions by Byron Hatfield, is funnier and more charming. It focuses on a group of Victorian ladies who regularly plot revenge on abusive men, and a tight ensemble, directed by Alison Dornheggen, makes them both feminist and fun. Through 5/14: Thu-Sat 7:30 PM, Sun 7 PM, Viaduct Theater, 3111 N. Western, 773-275-0440, $15-$18.
