Spy flicks, Star Trek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, samurai movies, and Mean Girls are some of what gets parodied in these 12 short scenes, which purport to show Entertainment Tonight-style preview clips. Babes With Blades is all about promoting women in stage combat, and the funny, tender, exciting battles here are fought using everything from fists and swords to high-heeled shoes and lunch boxes. The best sketch is Mary Anne Bowman’s “Double Identity,” a film noir parody with subtle acting by Dawn “Sam” Alden and Niema Wilson that turns into a surprising story about the emotional costs of urban alienation. All the scenes end with cliff-hangers, leaving us hungry for more. Through 11/20: Thu-Sat 8 PM, Sun 2 PM. Breadline Theatre, 1802 W. Berenice, 773-275-0440. $12-$15.
