BLINK

The Chicago Fringe and Buskers Festival isn’t happening this year, but the hit of last year’s fest is returning. A “juggling act,” Fritz Grobe and Morten Hansen take the stage and proceed to make both the animate and inanimate dance in ways replicable only in a quantum-physics lab. Even the sounds of balls striking palms and bouncing off the floor are incorporated into the dazzling spectacle as these two young men deftly manipulate a variety of objects in defiance of the laws of gravity (and sometimes anatomy). This they do with a Zen-like concentration that transforms ordinary entertainment into an experience akin to a sacred rite. Blink might not bring you to satori, but you’ll never hear the phrase “music of the spheres” in quite the same way again. Annoyance Theatre, 3747 N. Clark, 773-929-6200. Through June 15: late Fridays, 12:30 AM; Saturdays-Sundays, 7 PM. $8. –Mary Shen Barnidge
