No, it’s not magic–it’s imagination. Wheelchairs and braces have been no impediment to creativity for the kids in the Chicago Moving Company’s summer workshop at Hamlin Park–in fact, these enabling devices made excellent props, spurring new approaches to movement. The result of their six weeks’ labor of love can be seen Saturday at 1:45 and 4 on the tent stage at the Magic City Festival, when the company and the workshop participants, ages 7 to 39, perform a work on which all collaborated. The three-day, family-oriented festival takes place Friday through Sunday at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand (see Section Two sidebar). Admission ranges from $3 for a daylong festival pass to $15 for top seats at the Skyline Stage. Call 744-1612 for more information.
