Every couple of months, art collector and dealer Aron Packer strips his Rogers Park apartment bare and puts on a show. This weekend he’s exhibiting work by Lucy Ruth Wright Rivers along with pieces from his own collection of folk art. Describing her work, Wright Rivers, a 1991 MFA graduate of the School of the Art Institute, says “I decorate, collect, design, recycle, enhance, remember, salvage, record, and combine. To make the curtain shown here, she embroidered a piece of window screen with thread made from strips of plastic supermarket bags. This piece and others will be on view at Packer’s apartment gallery, 6307 N. Glenwood, tonight from 5 to 9, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 5. Call 743-2825 for more information.
