The fire-eating Drag Princess Faustina (Fausto Fernos) has taken it upon herself to produce and emcee another Radical Faerie “Feast of Fools Cabaret” at Edgewater’s gay and lesbian establishment, Big Chicks. Audiences should be prepared to be stunned, amused, and cruised–this is anything-goes performance, and the Radical Faeries are a wild group of gender-crossing cultural magicians. The first two “feasts” included sardonic, darkly self-indulgent poetry readings by local gay historian Sukie de la Croix, a mink-stole puppet lip-syncing “Cheek to Cheek” with a magnificent six-foot Joan Crawford, and Sheela Murphy stripping down to lush pregnant nakedness and performing an interactive cleansing ritual. October’s “Feast of Fools” promises drag karaoke sign language, right-wing parody, and a turn by dancer Asimina Chremos. Is it good art or bad? Have a beer and ask your fellow adventurers. Big Chicks, 5024 N. Sheridan, 773-784-3397. Thursday, October 15, 9 PM. $5. –Carol Burbank
