The Indonesia-based Imperial Group lands in River North later this year with Imperial Lamian, a Chinese restaurant that’ll feature dumplings, dim sum, and hand-pulled noodles in the space once occupied by the erstwhile Centro. The kitchen will host three chefs, one who specializes in stir-frying, one in noodles, and one in dim sum. The company’s CEO has talked a big game, claiming they’ll be serving dishes not seen in Chinatown. The group has 24 restaurants in Indonesia, but this is the first stateside shop, with more on the way. Here’s hoping for Thousand Layer Pig Ears With Imperial Sauce.
