The nuns do Vegas in writer-director Dan Goggin’s lackluster sixth take on the Nunsense franchise. Though this is a remount of an entertaining production at Drury Lane Water Tower Place last January, there’s a new cast, and the performers have less chemistry and a more sluggish sense of timing than the previous group. And Drury Lane Oakbrook’s murky acoustics ensure that even songs that should work can’t be understood. The result is fluffy but no fun. The one bright spot in a robotic cast is Bethany Moritz as daffy Sister Amnesia, who rolls through quirky patter songs–and operates a naughty puppet–with panache and wry humor. Through 7/23: Wed 1:30 PM, Thu 1:30 and 8 PM, Fri 8:30 PM, Sat 5 and 8:30 PM, Sun 2:30 and 7 PM, Drury Lane Oakbrook, Roosevelt and Butterfield, Oakbrook Terrace, 630-530-0111, $22-$26.
