Near the end of this program of three Rudyard Kipling fables the Great Djinn asked the audience, “Are you ready to leave India to seek other adventures?” and one youngster shouted, “No!” You couldn’t blame him. What, leave after only 45 minutes of Bollywood-style musical numbers, tales of crocodiles and camels and other exotic animals, and a mortal duel between the mongoose hero and two deadly cobras? Plus we get to join in the action (vocally, anyway)? Paul S. Holmquist’s fast-paced staging whisks us off on a magic carpet ride as the four actors scamper from one masked persona to the next, delivering each with dazzling precision. Through 3/26: Sat 11 AM and 1 PM, Sun 1 PM, Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood, 773-761-4477, $9 in advance, “pay what you can” at door.
