The bed, which is conjugal, has a pillow on it embroidered with the phrase “Love Lives On.” And that’s the show in a nutshell: a soft, square surface for displaying homely platitudes. Nikos Vlachos’s first full-length effort, produced by The Bed Productions, consists of six vignettes from Sara and Joe’s long, assertively cornball marriage. Their wedding night’s a bust, but love lives on; they threaten divorce, but love lives on; they age, sicken, and (spoiler alert!) die, but love lives on. Between vignettes Jason Raynovich plays excellent cello while two screens display artfully edited photomontages reminiscent of those you see at bar mitzvahs. Sandra Zielinski directs efficiently, cast members Madelon Guinazzo and Andy Luther are game–but an audience’s patience isn’t like love. –Tony Adler a Through 2/25: Thu-Fri 7:30 PM, Sat 4 and 8:30 PM, Sun 2:30 PM, Victory Gardens Greenhouse Theater, second-floor main stage, 2257 N.
