In “Evolve,” Dance COLEctive artistic director Margi Cole presents works by three generations of choreographers: Shirley Mordine, whose company is approaching the 40-year mark; herself and Colleen Halloran, who both studied under Mordine; and Angela Pawlicki, a Dance COLEctive member. Cole’s intuitive, accomplished new piece, Reminiscent Of, creates a community whose divisions and reconciliations are based in movement, not psychology. Splintering, regrouping, and splitting again, the seven dancers–all women–are connected by their simultaneous delicacy and groundedness. Mordine has restaged her 1997 Long Walking, about female endurance, and Halloran’s new work, Seen, includes her film of the two dancers, Cole and Dardi McGinley Gallivan. Pawlicki has created a trio, Brushed by, Sweeping Into, about emerging from inwardness. Also on the program is Cole’s Second Wind, which premiered last year. a Opens Thu 1/25, 8 PM. Through 1/27: Fri-Sat 8 PM, Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn, 773-604-8452, $16-$20. –Laura Molzahn
