Since most of Stir-Friday Night! moved to LA, the three remaining original members lead this younger reconstituted troupe, delivering more hits than misses in a quirky 75-minute revue directed by Brian Posen. The better sketches attack both Asian self-stereotyping and non-Asians’ fascination with the “yellow mask.” And in a killer bit about outsourcing, a sex-line customer eager to talk dirty to a Japanese call girl in fact confesses to a rotund, bored Indian male. More often the comedy dwindles into predictable stuff: puns on Wang, Dong, and Ho and sketches about humorless CPAs, bad cabdrivers, squabbling adoptive parents, and cell phone mayhem. The ensemble should have waited to convey the many symptoms of “yellow fever” till they’d come up with fresher approaches. Through 1/21: Fri-Sat 8 PM, Sun 3 PM, Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport, 312-902-1500, $12-$15.
