Red Line Tap

7000 N. Glenwood

On most nights of the week, this quiet Rogers Park dive offers a pool table, an indie band on a tiny stage, and the convenience of the adjacent train. But on Wednesday nights, the Red Line Tap explodes like a balloon filled with cheap beer. At just a dollar a pop on “Wasted Wednesdays,” Miller High Life drafts lure hordes of students and other north-siders who don’t want to spend more at the bar than they would on a load of laundry. You can even bring along friends with higher-brow tastes, who will be pleased to find Bell’s and Goose Island seasonals on tap. —Sallyann Price
