Tucked away in the north corner of the Fine Arts Building’s second floor is this sunny, high-ceilinged spot with an eclectic, sometimes eccentric collection and a large gray cat named Hodge, who employee Mark Mann describes as “the star of the show” (he’s also the star of a photo collection on the Selected Works website). Owner Keith Peterson ran his bookshop on the north side for 24 years before moving into the present location in 2008. His former competitor in this category, Myopic Books, no longer has a cat: “He got old, and a regular customer adopted him,” a clerk at the store told me.
