Recently relocated to one of Ukrainian Village’s busiest corners—Chicago just west of Damen—Study Hall offers a well-curated selection of clothing, accessories, books, decor, and cosmetics perfectly suited to a cool crowd. Owners Naoko Nagano and Malcolm Felder wanted to give customers a unique experience, so they decided to select a special theme each season. As of early spring, their products were centered around “summer leisure,” which is totally in tune with the adorable Marüshka collection they offer. Created in the 70s and made in Michigan, Marüshka is famous for its stylized prints of things like sailboats and flowers. Study Hall also carries local products such as posters by Sonnenzimmer and accessories by Cursive Design. Expect to find lots of LA-based Esley garments for girls ($30 to $90) and Altru graphic tees and woven shirts for dudes ($40-$90). Sure, it’s fun to scour sale racks and read coffee-table books at Urban Outfitters—but save your money for something slightly more original.
