Keenan Cahill
Keenan Cahill is just an average teenager from Elmhurst who suffers from t, aka Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome, a genetic abnormality that has, among other things, stunted his growth and affected his coordination. He makes videos of himself in his bedroom lip-synching—to the best of his ability—to Top 40 pop tunes and uploads them to YouTube. His take on Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” has racked up more than 40 million views thanks to Perry herself, who found the video and spread her love for Cahill on Twitter. When he shot his spin on Jeremih’s “Down on Me,” 50 Cent turned up in Cahill’s bedroom for his cameo on the track. Cahill has since gone on to make videos with many a celebrity—French house producer Dave Guetta, Jersey Shore’s Pauly D, party rappers LMFAO, Britney Spears, Jennifer Aniston. But despite his strange fame, one thing still connects him to every other teen YouTuber miming a favorite song online: an unabashed love of music. —Leor Galil
