Field Notes Expedition edition
Field Notes provides the perfect pocket-size notebooks to make you feel like you’re in a Wes Anderson movie, exemplified by the charmingly specific details of the Expedition edition. It’s easy to imagine a pastel-tinted Anderson sequence outlining the 12 scientific tests the notebooks passed—they scored especially high marks in “tensile strength” and “acid resistance.” But for all the impressive field tests, the notebooks’ ability to ward off liquid is the greatest thing to happen to avid pen-and-paper users. When I spill coffee on an important page of notes (an all too common occurrence), no longer do I panic. All I have to do is pick up the notebook and shake it off; the writing will still be intact. While Field Notes produces a number of attractive and functional notebooks, this modern marvel is by far its greatest gift.
