In the runup to his weekend performances of If You See Something Say Something, in which he dishes on the Department of Homeland Security, humorist Mike Daisey discusses the state of American theater in a roundtable with reps from some major local theaters, including Steppenwolf, the Writers’ Theatre, and Chicago Shakespeare. Debate will center on Daisey’s controversial monologue How Theater Failed America (“Cliffs Notes” here). The event takes place at the Museum of Contemporary Art, where admission is free on Tuesdays, and starts at 6 PM.

Whet Moser has more to add on this event and a couple other freebies here.
