Compassionate Veterinary Care, a Lincoln Park animal hospital run by Dr. Amir Shanan, the “Pet Kevorkian” Dennis Rodkin wrote about for the Reader back in ’95 (“Tweety died surrounded by the people, smells, and toys he had known best…”), is hosting an open house tonight from 6 to 9 PM. There’ll be free food and drink, including red and white wine, hummus and pita, quiche, pasta salad, spinach and artichoke dip, and ginger cookies. There’ll also be free consultations with animal behaviorist Mick McAuliffe, a proponent of positive reinforcement techniques. Call 773-327-5024 for more information.
