It’s Monday: maybe you’re back at work, maybe you’re not. Either way, it’s noon right now, and if you’re in the doldrums, here’s Airport 5’s “Stifled Man Casino.” Airport 5 was a brief side project of Guided by VoicesRobert Pollard and Tobin Sprout in which the latter would send music to the former to write lyrics for and sing. The results are scattershot, but if you like any GBV tracks from the 1992-’96 period—roughly Propeller to Under the Bushes, Under the Stars—then you will almost definitely like this song. Because you might need a three-minute rush of catchy noise-pop, and it’s Monday, and as Pollard sings, “That’s the breaks, baby!”
