• Last City Zero

Corrections House, the experimental industrial metal powerhouse featuring Mike IX Williams of Eyehategod and Scott Kelly of Neurosis—as well as local heavy metal staples Sanford Parker and Bruce Lamont—are just about ready to drop their debut LP, Last City Zero, which is due out on Neurot Recordings on October 29th. The band has previewed a track from the highly anticipated album, “Bullets and Graves,” and it’s today’s 12 O’Clock Track. At the core, it’s a straightforward ripper that charges ahead on a massive drum-machine gallop that sounds like it came right out of Wax Trax!’s glory days. If you listen to what’s going on underneath Williams’s growl though, you’ll catch deep, layered vocals, walls of feedback and bizarre saxophone blasts, delivered by Lamont. The whole thing is intense and powerful and exciting. I can’t wait to hear the rest of Last City Zero, if this song is any indication, it’s bound to be a great one.

Corrections House play a release show at Empty Bottle on Sat 11/30.
