Tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, Th!inkArt Salon (1530 N. Paulina, Ste. F) hosts “Paying Attention,” a free talk on art and social responsibility featuring painter David Gista, playwrights and performers Rohina Malik and Coya Paz, and psychotherapist Deborah Hellerstein. Using Rebecca Gilman’s play A True History of the Johnstown Flood (reviewed by Reader critic Justin Hayford) as a starting point for discussion, panelists will explore artists’ potential responsibilities in times of social crisis, and art’s power to create change.
