Two festivals on Saturday continue this week’s lineup of Earth Day events. The Green and Growing Urban Gardening Fair will offer up tips and tricks for getting a garden started in the city, and organizers plan to have free food and pole bean seed packets on hand. The Gardening Fair will run from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Garfield Park Conservatory (300 N. Central Park).
In Rogers Park, Loyola University (1050 W. Sheridan) is hosting the North Lake Shore Community Earth Day Festival from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. Plans include a green fair with environmentally friendly vendors; presentations by Helen Cameron of Uncommon Ground, Rick Davis of Heifer International, and others; free bike rentals; children’s activities; free organic and vegan food; and talks by congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and senator Heather Steans.
