The Chicago Cultural Center and Cinema/Chicago cohost free Wednesday night screenings of recent releases not widely distributed in the U.S. This week’s film is The Rocket, Charles Binamé’s 2005 biopic about midcentury NHL great Maurice “The Rocket” Richard, a French-Canadian who challenged organizational injustices in the league.

The screening takes place at the cultural center’s 280-seat Claudia Cassidy Theater (77 E. Randolph). Admission is first come, first seated. James McHugh, a professor of political science at Roosevelt University, will give an introductory talk at 6:30 PM. No food or drink allowed.
