For the next seven weeks, the Chicago Outdoor Film Festival will be screening classic movies in Grant Park’s Butler Field (Lake Shore Dr. and Monroe) at sunset on Tuesdays. Tonight’s film, the first in the series, is Sunset Boulevard, the 1950 classic starring Gloria Swanson as fading silent-screen starlet Norma Desmond.

Also tonight, though not part of the Grant Park series, 80s Chicago hijinks epic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off will be showing in Uihlein Plaza (1601 N. Clark), behind the Chicago History Museum. Screenings are free and start at dusk.
