Today and tomorrow Chicago Detours offers “Good Times on the Mag, Past to Present,” a free walking tour of the near north side that explores the area’s history as a playground for grown-ups. Founder and tour guide Amanda Scotese shares stories of entertainment both wholesome and corrupt as she takes you past present and past sites of grand balls, Jazz Age shows, elite soirees, speakeasies, theater performances, and more. Tours begin at 10:30 AM at the sculpture in the Tribune Building courtyard (435 N. Michigan) and end two hours later at State and Rush; on Sat 7/31, a fourth tour starts at 5:30 PM. “Good Times” continues through the end of August at the usual price of $17.
