It’s been over a year since we offered $10 to solve the mystery implied in a cryptic letter we got. Nobody solved it, though not for lack of trying, and eventually the money went to buying some hooch for the office. The mystery didn’t seem too hard to solve; the package we received contained only a $10 bill, a a strip of paper with a couple of simple sentences preceded by the number “65,” and a letter. The letter told us to follow the clues, and for a few days we did, just like the 99 other people who received or found a similar package. We assembled what we knew, figured out that there was a Facebook page where the project was being outlined, but so much of the information on clues wasn’t online that the answer never really came out.
