Time to plan the weekend. Here’ s some of what we recommend:

Fri 12/4: Local businesses in Andersonville offer holiday discounts along with free food and drink, live entertainment, and a visit from Santa at the Swedish American Museum (6-8 PM, 5211 N. Clark) for Late Night Andersonville. 6-10 PM

Fri 12/4: Greg Sestero, costar of the Tommy Wiseau cult classic The Room, brings The Disaster Artist Live! to the Music Box (3733N. Southport) in which he discusses his book The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made, presents a behind-the-scenes documentary, and participates in an interactive live script reading. A screening of the film follows at midnight; the events are $12 apiece, or $20 for both. 10 PM

12/4-12/6: Amok Fest is a weekend celebration of Indonesian culture at Links Hall (3111 N. Western) that includes multiple performances of Karen Yates’s multimedia production Amok, gamelan music, Javanese and modern dance, electronic music and spoken word, film screenings, and Indonesian food from the Rice Table. Fri 7 PM; Sat 2:30, 5, and 7 PM; Sun 5 and 7 PM

Sat 12/5: Krampusfest at Martyrs’ (3855 N. Lincoln) is a seasonal tribute to Santa’s evil counterpart, Krampus. The daylong event includes live music, an art fair, a pub crawl, and the traditional Krampuslauf parade. Noon-8 PM

Sat 12/5: Private confessions read out loud by Mia Keeler, Chanell Ruth, Natalie Moore, and others in Mortified, a show that promises “personal redemption through public humiliation.” Hosted by Shay DeGrandis at the Promontory (5311 S. Lake Park West). 7 PM

Sun 12/6: With Old Forester—which produced the U.S.’s first bottled bourbon—the Reader throws a Repeal Day party at the Dawson (730 W. Grand) to celebrate the end of Prohibition on December 5, 1933. Three cocktails and hors d’oeuvres are included with admission; music is by the Winchester Sound. 3-6 PM

Sun 12/6: Josh Seiter, a contestant on last season’s The Bachelorette, joins the Under the Gun (956 W. Newport) improv ensemble for a special night of Will You Accept This Rose, its improvised Bachelor show. 9 PM
