Metz

In October I previewed a pair of shows by relatively unknown postpunk/hardcore trio Metz. There were only about eight people at Permanent Records’ early show, but the Toronto dudes wailed and sweated through a set of absolute loudness whose volume was magnified by the narrow corridor the band was crammed into. (Permanent’s space definitely isn’t built for decibel levels like that.) And I heard the Burlington show later that night was even better.
