So it appears. Two of the more involved archives of local graffiti are the groups Chicago Graffiti and Chicago “Old School” Graffiti. The latter, in particular, is an impressive resource, and is currently plugging a show by an early Chicago graffiti artist called Risk (aka Eric DeBat) from Logan Square’s ABC crew. It’s at the intriguing-looking CISA Gallery in Hammond through April 17.

Incidentally, I highlighted the pictured work from “Trane” because, say what you will about graffiti, not enough of the people who do it (legitimately and otherwise) use sans-serif fonts. I don’t know what became of Trane, but I hope he considered typography.
