No surprise, but still noteworthy: the Steppenwolf Theatre production of Tracy Letts’s Pulitzer prize-winner, August: Osage County, has been nominated for four Laurence Olivier Awards, Britain’s most prestigious theatrical honor. The nominations were announced today in London. This year the Olivier judges have introduced an award for Best Company Performance, and the Steppenwolf cast, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, is nominated in that new category. Also nominated are Letts, for best new play; Deanna Dunagan for best actress in a play; and Todd Rosenthal for best set design. The winners will be announced Sunday, March 8.
