Always wanted to bankroll a show, just like Guy Kibbee in 42nd Street? Here’s your chance. Chopin Theatre’s TryArts program has put together a backer’s audition, featuring three works-in-progress looking for their angels.

The three are Hopera: Chronicles of a Fallen Hero, a hip-hop opera; The Encyclopedia Show, in which participants “create new poems based on encyclopedia topics”; and the Paderewski in the Park Piano Festival, which would put free piano concerts in public spaces.

Each concept gets a 30-minutes presentation, and there’s a “light reception” after. Saturday 2/7, 4 PM Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division, 773-278-1500, free–though, of course, donations and in-kind support are welcome.
