Chicago’s largest and longest-running Oktoberfest is back for its 27th year. In addition to beer, the Berghoff Oktoberfest offers soft pretzels, bratwurst with sauerkraut, apple strudel, German potato salad, and other Bavarian specialties. The Johnny Wagner Band performs traditional German music, and each night Chicago locals including Maggie Speaks and Modern Day Romeos take the stage. Wed-Fri 11 AM-9 PM, Adams and Dearborn, no admission fee.

2 Sparrows hosts its second pig roast of the season. Executive chef Gregory Ellis serves up a whole hog from Catalpa Grove, and corn fritters, wedge salad, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and peach cobbler complete the spread. Louisville Distilling Company’s Angel’s Envy bourbon is featured in four cocktails. 7 PM, 2 Sparrows, 553 W. Diversey, reservations required, call 773-234-2320.
