- Former president Bill Clinton in town for Hillary campaign
Don’t be surprised if you see Bill Clinton’s motorcade on the streets. He’s in the area Tuesday to campaign for Hillary’s presidential campaign ahead of the March 15 Illinois primary. The former president will headline a get-out-the-vote rally at 10:30 AM at Beth Emet the Free Synagogue, in Evanston. [Sun-Times]
- Logan Square transformed with fake snow for movie shoot
It felt like spring on Monday morning, so some Logan Square residents must have been confused by the fresh snow on the ground. Amazon movie producers had a block of Milwaukee Avenue (between Fullerton and Medill) closed and covered with snow for the filming of a so-far untitled movie. [DNAinfo Chicago]
- Rahm Emanuel’s inner circle transforms in second term
With the high-profile exits of “mini-Rahm” David Spielfogel and ex-police chief Garry McCarthy from Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration, there’s a huge void left to fill as the mayor tries to win back Chicago’s trust after the Laquan McDonald video controversy. - Ex-Bears head coach Lovie Smith takes the helm at University of Illinois
After 20 years in the NFL, former Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith is returning to college football at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Illini fans are excited, but say there’s a lot of work to be done. [ESPN]
- Washington Park’s vacant Daniel Burnham building
It’s hard to imagine that a beautiful building designed by architect Daniel Burnham is sitting empty on the south side, but the Washington Park Roundhouse hasn’t been used in years.
