Years ago I was given a copy of Blue Note: The Album Cover Art, one of the great music-oriented coffee table books. The jazz label’s design aesthetic—particularly the work of Reid Miles—is among the most iconic in the history of the record business. This 128-page book, which is now out of print, features full-size reproductions of some of Blue Note’s most memorable covers, but as any fan knows, those offerings are just the tip of the iceberg. I don’t know how long Japanese website Vintage Vanguard has been up—judging from its design, probably quite a while—but for the Blue Note aficionado it’s a mother lode.
