Though they’ve relocated to both coasts, former Chicagoans OK Go are still doing right by their old hometown. Prior to their Double Door show on April 23 the band will be making burritos and passing them out to the homeless; as this is a sizable task, they are asking for some assistance–the first 20 people to e-mail them via their Web site (once the contest goes live, later today or on Thursday) will get to roll burritos with the band.

For the show itself, OK Go will be playing songs from their still-untitled and nearly completed new album, which front man Damian Kulash describes as being “Purple Rain-esque. Saying it’s much more soulful–coming from us–I know it’s a bit ridiculous.” The album was produced by Dave Fridmann (MGMT, Sleater-Kinney, Flaming Lips) and is tentatively set for a late-August release on Capitol.

If you can’t make it to the Double Door, you can also catch OK Go backing Shudder to Think’s Craig Wedren as the wedding band in the epic “bromantic” comedy I Love You, Man, currently in theaters.
