Back in June, David Hammond reported that Oak Park’s Marion Street Cheese Market, the Reader‘s Best of Chicago pick for best cheese selection, would be expanding and adding an in-house cafe over the summer. The new cafe opened July 14 under chef Michael Pivoney, who’s been combing the Green City and Oak Park markets for the makings of what they’re calling “farmers’ market tapas.” You can read Hammond’s review of the place here.

With the change of seasons Pivoney has been offering heartier small plates, such as braised lamb Provençale and an applewood-smoked pork chop with a stone fruit compote; owner Erik Larson says that fondue and raclette are on their way.
