The local kids-chaos-and-rock-and-roll cable access institution Chic-a-Go-Go is moving to a (slightly) bigger screen this weekend with Chic-a-Go-Go: The Movie, premiering this Sunday at Schubas. The folks behind the film say it’s “silly, messy, and shamelessly shoddy,” and also promise “puppetry, fighting, dancing, rock ‘n’ roll, and [punk rock rat puppet] Ratso on a playground,” which sounds bonkers. There’s going to be a brunch at Harmony Grill at noon, followed by a “red carpet reception” with Chic-a-Go-Go host Miss Mia from 1:15 to 1:30 PM. The movie’s supposed to start at 2, with a dance party (of course) after it’s over. The event is free (except for brunch) and open to all ages.
