Nearly 30 years after serving its first veggie burger, the Chicago Diner has decided to expand its vegetarian comfort food reach. The Lakeview staple that’s become a destination over the years for veggie tourists—as well as a revered local spot for the gluttonous vegetarian (like myself) looking for a meatless Dagwood, country fried steak, or chocolate chip cookie dough peanut butter vegan milk shake—is opening a second location in Logan Square.

The Diner will occupy the recently vacated space of Logan Square Kitchen (2333 N. Milwaukee) and is shooting for a fall opening.

This is all very exciting for someone who lives a mere ten-minute walk away.
