Crain’s reported yesterday that Greg Christian Catering is closing its doors after lenders called in their loans. Christian, you may remember, is the force behind the Organic School Project, which Nicholas Day profiled two years ago in the Reader. Despite some bumps in the road, the OSP still abides, hosting a mac ‘n’ cheese smackdown as a benefit last month at Goose Island, and Christian is reported to have “launched a national consulting firm that will help hospitality businesses create more sustainable operations.”

The outgoing voice-mail message at Powerhouse, the  “classic American” restaurant in the restored Chicago & North Western Railway facility, says it is “temporarily” closed.
