Mon 3/14: Theatre Y presents a special performance of Glen Berger’s An Impressive Presentation of Lovely Evidences: Underneath the Lintel at Links Hall (3111 N. Western). Darren Hall stars in the one-act story of a librarian discovering a returned book that is 113 years overdue. 7 PM

Mon 3/14:
The Chicago Sinfonietta’s Bring Your Own Beat performance at the Symphony Center (220 S. Michigan) features Alcides Rodriguez, Mei-Ann Chen, Roger Kalia, and Cynthia Yeh, plus Dave Ford’s Swing Set Drum Kit. 7:30 PM

Tue 3/15: During the Confidential Musical Theatre Project at Stage 773 (1225 W. Belmont), the audience won’t know what show they’re seeing before it begins, and the actors rehearse individually without meeting the entire cast until an hour before the performance. 7:30 PM

Tue 3/15:
The classical Chinese dance company Shen Yun explores the lost civilization of the Middle Kingdom in a new performance at the Civic Opera House (20 N. Wacker). 7:30 PM

Wed 3/16: Culinary Fight Club is a live cooking competition at the Chop Shop (2033 W. North) with bacon-inspired dishes. Contestants include Phil Wingo (the Porkmafia), chef Lamar Moore (Hotel Chicago), and Dylan Lipe (Heritage Smoke). Guests get to sample the dishes, enjoy Sam Adams brews, and play casino games. 6-9 PM

Wed 3/16: Comedian David Cross stops at the Vic (3145 N. Sheffield) as part of “Making America Great Again!,” his first stand-up tour in six years. (Read our interview with Cross.) 7:30 and 10 PM

Wed 3/16-Sat 3/19: The Cornservatory’s drinking-game comedy show goes green with Saint Patrick’s Day-themed sketches at Off the Paddy Wagon. Check it out at the comedy theater’s stage (4210 N. Lincoln). 8 PM

Thu 3/17:
The all-day Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration at the Irish American Heritage Center (4626 N. Knox) starts off with Irish-Catholic mass, then features performances by Kathleen Keane and Friends, O’Hare School of Irish Dance, Chancey Brothers, Trinity Irish Dancers, and Without U2. 11 AM-8 PM
