Adam Dunn boldly told the Tribune yesterday that he’ll win the comeback player of the year award this season “if I play all 162 [games] like I plan to.”

He said this after he was scratched from the White Sox lineup for the second time in three days because of a sore neck.

Dunn blamed his neck pain on a night of couch sleeping. But it’s also possible his body is adjusting to the shock of making contact. He’s hitting .308 with two homers, and has fanned only once.
