Big news of the week? The Pitchfork Music Festival announced dates (July 15-17), and single-day tickets and three-day passes go on sale this Friday at a time to be determined. Three-day passes sold out in five days last year, so don’t bum around and miss the window. No formal announcement has been made concerning the festival’s schedule, but the Reader‘s Gossip Wolf has some early reports and rumors.
The week’s other Early Warnings are heavy on quality hip-hop: Aesop Rock at Lincoln Hall, Big K.R.I.T. with Freddie Gibbs at Bottom Lounge, and Black Thought of the Roots at the Mid. There’s also, um, some other hip-hop: P. Diddy hits the House of Blues in April, desperately trying to live out his dream of being a legitimate rapper with his new outfit, Diddy Dirty Money.
Other notables include Bomba Estereo, Dengue Fever, Matt & Kim with the Thermals, Sondre Lerche with Nightlands, and Small Brown Bike with the Casket Lottery.
