With Do-Division and Green Music Festival dates already announced, the next in line would naturally be the Wicker Park Fest, which runs July 23 and 24 on Milwaukee between North and Wood. The lineup is impressive thus far, with Wild Flag, Wavves, Blitzen Trapper, Flosstradamus, Ana Sia, and El Ten Eleven all signed on.
In other festival news, Dave Matthews and his band are once again taking a summer tour to amass a nice nest egg for the winter, but this time they’re trying to distract everyone from how irritating they are by bringing along more appealing acts and calling the whole shebang the Dave Matthews Band Caravan. The three-day festival, which sets up camp on an expanse of lakeside real estate (8555 S. Green Bay) from July 8-10, features the Flaming Lips (performing Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon), the Drive-By Truckers, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, the Jayhawks, Vieux Farka Toure, and more.
Other shows of note for the week include Archers of Loaf and Blonde Redhead on separate dates at Bottom Lounge, Unsane at Abbey Pub, Times New Viking and Wildbirds & Peacedrums on separate dates at the Empty Bottle, the Windy City Soundclash at Subterranean, and Atari Teenage Riot at Reggie’s.
