• Sleepy Sun

This week’s batch of Early Warnings includes metal shows from an eclectic mix of subgenres: sludge metal from Eyehategod, hair metal from Ratt, instrumental metal from Pelican, nu-metal from Korn, even folk metal from Faroe Islanders Tyr. Those of you who don’t count yourselves metal fans will also find plenty of welcome additions to the list of on-sale announcements, among them summery San Francisco stoner-pop sextet Sleepy Sun and husband-and-wife indie-pop team Mates of State.

The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir will be playing for the first time since their serious van accident in September. Tickets for the June 19 show at Subterranean are on sale now.

These Are Powers are making up their canceled March 27 Hideout show (van trouble), rolling back through on May 6. Men at Work’s Colin Hay is moving his solo performance from the now-defunct Lakeshore Theater to FitzGerald’s in Berwyn.
