There’s no longer a reason to be bummed about missing Pavement at Pitchfork because you didn’t get a single-day Sunday pass before they sold out. (It seems inevitable that additional passes will be released at some point, but still.) Malkmus and the boys will be lighting up Millennium Park’s Pritzker Pavilion in mid-September with openers No Age. Alas, unlike a typical Pritzker Pavilion show, it’s not free. This is a reunion tour, remember, and one of the big reasons bands do reunion tours is the prospect of assloads of cash getting tossed every which way.

The other Early Warnings that caught my eye this week include Delorean with Glasser at the Empty Bottle, entertainingly crude old-school punks the Dwarves with the Turbo A.C.’s at Reggie’s Rock Club, pioneering noise rockers Unsane with Today Is the Day and Keelhaul at the Empty Bottle, and School of Seven Bells at Lincoln Hall.

The lineup for West Fest, held at Chicago between Damen and Wood, was recently announced as well, with Fucked Up, Yawn, Dominique Young Unique, Beach Fossils, Small Black, the Life & Times, Bloodiest, and more.
