This week’s new Early Warnings aren’t just Lollapalooza afterfest announcements; they also include, for instance, the lineup for the Chicago Jazz Festival (September 2-5 at Grant Park, Millennium Park, and the Chicago Cultural Center), with big names like Henry Threadgill’s Zooid, the Kurt Elling Quartet, and Brian Blade & the Fellowship Band. Check out Peter Margasak’s first look at the lineup for more.

Other notable non-Lolla-related shows announced this week include Coliseum with Burning Love and Fight Amp at Reggie’s Rock Club, the Do at Schubas, Fu Manchu with Black Tusk at Double Door, Liars at Bottom Lounge (OK, that one’s Pitchfork-related), Shonen Knife at Schubas, and Thee Oh Sees at Lincoln Hall.

Oh, and about those Lollapalooza afterfest shows? The bands signed up to pull double duty over that weekend include the Big Pink, the Black Keys, Blitzen Trapper, Cut Copy, the New Pornographers, the National, Phoenix, Health, MGMT, Wavves, and Gogol Bordello.
