Last week Schubas and Lincoln Hall announced the majority of their shows for this year’s Tomorrow Never Knows festival, an increasingly impressive indie-music romp in the dead of winter. The festival’s new third venue, Metro, made the rest of its TNK lineup public this week: rising hip-hop stars Freddie Gibbs and Rita J. take the stage Friday, January 14, and Tanlines and Young Empires play on Saturday, January 15.
Other big-ticket shows announced this week include the Hold Steady at Lincoln Hall on December 30, Mogwai at Metro on April 29, Deerhoof at Bottom Lounge on February 15, and Yo La Tengo at Metro on February 4.
And of course the New Year’s Eve show announcements keep coming—Japandroids play at Schubas on both New Year’s and January 1, and the Abbey Pub hosts local punk legends Pegboy along with White Mystery.
