Topping this week’s Early Warnings are three big shows at Congress Theater. Chuck Berry kicks off 2011 with a performance on January 1, the Wu-Tang Clan rolls through on January 8, and Girl Talk plays on March 4—he’ll probably sell out that date, because everyone loves a dance party with toilet-paper blowers that’s run by a dude grooving at his computer.

Among the New Year’s Eve shows announced this week are a couple of sure-to-be-bonkers parties featuring local bands: Mucca Pazza at Logan Square Auditorium and Flosstradamus at Lincoln Hall. But of all the New Year’s lineups I’ve seen so far, none is likely to make for a rowdier show than the one at the Empty Bottle, where sissy-bounce hero Big Freedia will be joined by garage-rock maniac Nobunny.

Other shows coming up include Buke & Gass with Talk Normal at the Empty Bottle, Gang of Four at Metro, My Brightest Diamond at Lincoln Hall, Rick Ross at the Chicago Theatre, and the Wailers at the House of Blues.
