On Friday, December 7, from 6 to 9 PM, Lillstreet Art Center hosts its second annual Empty Bowls fund-raiser at the in-house First Slice Cafe. The event centers around ceramic bowls handmade and donated by Lillstreet artists, which will serve both as dishes for the meal of soup and bread and as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world. At the end of the evening, attendees can keep the bowl their soup came in. Proceeds from the cafe always go to feed Chicago’s hungry, but this event will also generate extra help for Heartland Alliance, The Night Ministry, American Indian Center Youth Program, and Howard Area Alternative High School. $20.
